Spotlight‘, a group of four Boston Globe journalists are called upon to unearth a somewhat covered-up case surrounding allegations of child abuse and molestation caused by the Catholic Church. The initially overlooked investigation develops into a larger scandal as the sins of priests are confirmed and the team endeavours to write the story that could potentially cause controversy and change, not just for the US, but the whole world.

Deadpool (2016)

Film Review

Currently involved  in mercenary pursuits, outspoken former Special Force Operative Wade Wilson lives a somewhat blissful state, meeting and falling for the enticing Vanessa, who shares a common sharp wit to the protagonist. Their dreams are subsequently altered severely after an unpredicted misfortune regarding Wade’s health, and the pair are met with demanding decisions to make. Ultimately deciding to singly sought out Ajax, a moderately disturbed and sadistic leader of rogue experiments, promising to cure Wade and provide him with new abilities beyond expectations. Contrary to foundational indications, Wade is pushed through torturous exploits, further resulting in a unnatural mutation, causing him to later possess accelerated healing capabilities. These new powers bear horrific downsides in the form of a disfigured appearance, forcing Wade to conceal himself away from what he loves most. Now, with the superhero persona of Deadpool, Wade seeks vengeance against Ajax, and the reunion with the one he loves.

Dante doen’t share many similarites with Ari. Finding solace in tranquil leisurely activities such as drawing and reading for the sheer fun of it, Dante appears to have life interpreted. Despite their obvious variances, after meeting at the swimming pool, the pair develop a unique and important friendship. Pushed to limits first unforseen, the companions are tested against obstacles established by the undefinable universe and the entanglements of growing up.

The Revenant (2016)

Film Review

 In the wild American tundra of the 1820’s, a group of animal trappers are on the journey of survival as they travel across the to their outpost following an attack from opposing Natives. With the most knowledge regading the surrounding lands, Hugh Glass leads his comrades. Soon enough, he is savagely attacted by a frantic, protective bear and abandoned by his fellows. Now, left unaided and close to death, Glass is compelled to retaliate against the harsh environements, in order to reform with his group and ultimately achieve revenge against his son’s murderer and traitorous ally.

New kid to town, Zach and his widowed mum move next door to teenage girl Hannah and her stern, concealed father, who becomes apparent to be R.L. Stine, worldwide bestselling author of the Goosebumps series . Drawn in by his uneasy demeanour, Zack discovers that his curious neighbours actually conceal a further deep secret, involving locked manuscripts of the childhood stories in their home. Stine, trapped in part of his imagination, has the ability to create monsters that can materialise into the real world. When the books are unintentionally opened, the creations are released from the pages. Now faced with the many terrors from his own writings, Stine, along with the help from his daughter, Zach and his new friend Champ, must battle their way to trap the creatures before any further chaos can ensue.
